U-Belong digital marketing case study

THE BRIEF.

U-belong is a very fascinating business as its bread and butter in employing the Youth of South Africa. When we partnered with them in their marketing venture it was to build the digital side of the brand from the ground up. There were no social media pages or accounts, it was built from the ground up. These types of clients are our favourite because we get to walk this path with them. The goal of the digital branding was to create a social media space where their current customers could turn to for information and content, as well as attract new customers to join their workforce.

THE STRATEGY

Our strategy was to create a space for customers and non-customer alike. The goal was to provide content that would benefit both current customers and non-customer. From the start we knew that this would be made or broken by the people as the target market was the Youth of South Africa. We had to be very careful in providing exceptional service via the digital platforms as it became the #1 platform for communication.

THE IMPLENTATION.

Setting up a visually pleasing and extensive feed was priority #1 as the youth South Africa need to be drawn visually first. We did this by using branding with bright colours to draw attention, with some posts using the same branding as the mobile networks like MTN, Telkom, Cell C, and Vodacom to get authority in the space we were advertising in. All our work was approved by the major networks before going live. The second phase was to start promoting the Brand to #1 get more customers and #2 grow the social media presence.

THE RESULTS.

U-Belongs social media is so effective that it is no longer necessary to run marketing campaigns for new customers as the accounts get 5-10 organic (FREE) leads per day. This means that U-Belong can use their marketing budget elsewhere while still reaping the same marketing benefits. The pages have a 24 hour response time to ensure customer satisfaction. When more leads are need the cost per lead is less than 2ZAR per lead.
